The Language of the Forest

Transport your students to the high altitudes of Mt. San Jacinto State Park and Wilderness via the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, the world’s longest and steepest rotating car! Through sensory exploration, this program aims to explore ways we can learn the language of the forest and decipher what the mountain is communicating. Subject to fair weather, students can walk the Discovery Nature Trail and explore Long Valley, a precious meadow ecosystem home to various unique species.

*This trip involves riding the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, a third-party enterprise. Ticket reservations must go through PS Tramway in addition to booking your trip with the Park.

*This trip involves high altitudes and rugged terrain. The weather at altitude can change dramatically and suddenly. Snowstorms typically start around late November to early December. For safety purposes, the park reserves all rights to postpone or cancel a trip due to inclement weather.
