Malibu Creek State Park In-Person Field Trip

Guided Nature Walk

Explore Malibu Creek State Park with your students on a 3-mile nature walk led by trained volunteer docents. Along the way, students will learn about the park’s unique plants, animals, geology, and human history. Educators may request specific topics to align with classroom learning. Students will enjoy lunch at the Visitor Center, located 1 mile along the trail.

Program Type: Guided field trip with accompanying pre-visit lesson sent ahead of trip.

Grade Level: 3rd–5th grade

Capacity: Up to 65 students

Chaperone Ratio: 1 adult per 10 students

Length of program: Field trip: 120 minutes + Lunch and Commute time

Oak Woodland Experience

Students will rotate through hands-on learning stations set up along the ADA-accessible Ann Skager Trail. Guided by volunteer docents and State Park staff, students will explore the plants, animals, and the native peoples of Malibu Creek—specifically the people of Ta’lopop—and discover how they are all interconnected.
