The Interpretation and Education Division recently launched our new website, Adventures in Learning! The new website offers our visitors a more user-friendly and intuitive way to find out about our interpretive programs and explore our educational resources. The purpose is for visitors to find what they are looking for faster, or to discover and explore something new.

Here are a few features of the new Adventures in Learning website:

Modern Aesthetics

The new site features modern font and webpage styling as well as adaptable content that works with an array of devices and screen sizes. Even though Adventures in Learning has its own font and color scheme, it still retains official insignia that lets users know that they are still visiting an official State of California website.

Category/grid system for content

The new site uses a system of grids to display dynamic, relevant content (i.e., links to other pages, online resources, PDF documents). Depending on the categories that each content is tagged with, it can show up in one or many places around the site. The new search page, Adventure Finder, allows for sorting and filtering of all content based on the categories assigned.

Easier to use and more robust content management system

The new site uses WordPress as its content management system, which makes it much easier to edit/update/create content for the site. It also means more flexibility with what content we can publish and how we do it.

Please take the time to explore the new site and recommend it to others. The site is continually being developed, and if you have interpretive web content that you’d like featured on the site or any other suggestions, please email jonathan.camacho@parks.ca.gov.
