In-Person Field Trip: Explore Leo Carrillo State Park
Explore the beautiful coastline at Leo Carrillo State Park. Depending on the tide, students will explore the tidepools or wrack line at the beach, learning about the marine life they find and their adaptations to survive the intertidal zone. Students will also take a nature walk along a bluff trail, learning about the coastal ecosystem and its connection with the greater Santa Monica Mountains.
Program Type: Hybrid Learning program includes a virtual pre-visit and a guided field trip.
Grade Level: 3rd-12th grade

Chaperone Ratio: 1 adult per 10 students
Length: Virtual Pre-visit: 45 minutes, Field trip: 120 minutes + Lunch and Commute time

Bring students and chaperones to create your own adventure at this site. State Parks provides suggestions and some material for you to facilitate this trip. Bus fees can be waived.
